Hewitt Associates
A mammoth HR/benefits company, Hewitt wanted to leverage their rolls of recent retirees in the "gap" between retirement and Medicare. But navigating the waters of healthcare is tough enough for the able-bodied, let alone the Winnebago-bound. Sageo was a site designed to guide retirees step-by-step through choosing a health plan and other "life events" where Hewitt could add value.

-
Helping seniors navigate healthcare
We developed an 8-step process (4 to search, 4 to enroll) that helped seniors find the best plans based on a variety of factors: needs of coverage, cost, geography, etc.
-
Defining the structure
The IA was predictably complex, given that Hewitt wanted to provide a range of informational content on health and various 'lifestyle' issues.
-
Educating old-schoolers in the medium
Hewitt experts were charged with writing the content...but they had no experience in writing for the web. I created a series of editorial guidelines, illustrating rhetorical principles with examples of good & bad online information design.

Extending the design system
At the end of the project, I was the IA and writer for our design guidelines system.
